Dive Sites

Girandella

The Girandella dive site is located to the north of Rabac and is dived from the shore. The bottom slopes down in terraces to a depth of 20m. There you reach the edge of the reef, which drops almost vertically to a depth of 40m. This is a great site for beginners and experienced divers alike. Octopus and conger eels can be found in the shallows, while more experienced divers will find lobsters and crabs in the crevices of the steep wall.

Golubjera

Golubjera is located north of Rabac and is only accessible by boat. The site is suitable for both beginners and experienced divers and is characterised by numerous crevasses and caves close to the shore. Here you can become a real explorer! If you follow the outline from the shore, you will reach a reef at about 20m with beautiful flora and fauna.

Wrack Lina

The Lina is one of the most beautiful and famous wrecks in the Adriatic. It is located off the island of Cres, not far from Cape Pecenj. The steamer ran aground on the reef during a storm on 14 January 1914 and sank just off the coast – it lies so perfectly that you could be forgiven for thinking it was parked here. Nearly 90m long and impressive looking, the Italian freighter stands upright at a depth of 27m to 52m. We only dive to the recreational limit of 40m. The beauty of this site is that not only do you get to dive an incredible wreck, but you also get to dive a beautiful area in the shallows with unique caves and swim-throughs.

Babina

Babina lies to the south of Rabac. Start your dive from a plateau at around 5m and follow the edge eastwards to a depth of around 20m. There the edge bends and continues northwards, forming a beautifully overgrown wall. Here you can find lobsters, conger eels, nudibranchs and large sea fans. A canyon from 25m gets shallower to 12m and then back to the plateau and the boat.

Barbakovac

The Barbakovac dive site, also known as the “Rock Gate”, is located south of Rabac near the small town of Ravni. At a depth of 15m and 38m you can dive through two impressive passages in the limestone rocks, densely covered with yellow encrusted anemones. As soon as divers emerge from the deeper swim-through, a unique panorama unfolds in front of the neoprene divers: a steep wall full of gorgonians, colourful sponges and lots of goatfish.

Jadrina

The dive site Jadrina, also known as Nikolai Cave, is located south of Rabac and is one of the most beautiful dive sites off the east coast of Istria. The cave is about 45m2 and is located at a depth of 24m at the foot of a steep wall. As the entrance to the cave is very wide, it is suitable for beginners with a deep diving certificate as well as for experienced divers. On the other side of the cave, divers can see all the colours and shapes of the Adriatic Sea: yellow and red gorgonians alternate with colourful shimmering soft corals and crusty anemones, as well as countless feather stars.

Sveta Marina

The Sveta Marina dive site is located south of Rabac and is characterised by two beautiful cliffs. On the right side, seen from the shore, there are pyramid-like rock formations, a statue of the Madonna and a beautifully overgrown cliff that drops to 40 metres. On the left, seen from land, there are about 20 caves at different depths in the cliff, a real gorgonian eldorado and some Roman statues. Sveta Marina – there is always something new to discover!

Brestova

The Brestova dive site is located north of Rabac and is characterised by a stunning wall with many crevasses and small caves. The cliff is rich in flora and fauna and there is a good chance of seeing lobsters, cuttlefish, octopus, scorpion fish and conger eels.
