Courses

We train according to the standards of Scuba Schools International (SSI). SSI was founded in the USA in 1970 and is now one of the largest training organizations for recreational divers. SSI offers a very modern and good pedagogical concept and has first-class teaching materials for beginners and more advanced divers. The SSI diving certificates are of course recognized all over the world.

Medical questionnaire & medical clearance

Safety is our priority. Before participating in any diving activity with us, each participant must complete a medical questionnaire to ensure that they are medically fit to dive.

The purpose of this questionnaire is to determine if a medical examination is required prior to participation in diving training. A “yes” answer does not necessarily disqualify you from diving. A “yes” only indicates a condition that may affect your safety while diving and means that you must obtain a medical clearance before participating in any diving activity.

In general, any licensed medical practitioner can carry out a fit to dive examination and issue a fit to dive certificate. However, apart from issuing fit to dive certificates, relatively few doctors have any theoretical training in diving medicine, and only a very small proportion of medical practitioners have any practical medical experience in diving, hyperbaric medicine or the treatment of diving accidents.

If possible, a doctor in the latter category would be the best person to contact for medical clearance. Appropriately trained doctors can be found, for example, in hyperbaric chambers. At the very least, however, the doctor conducting the “fit to dive” examination should have appropriate further training (e.g. from the GTÜM -Gesellschaft für Tauch- und Überdruck-Medizin).

Dive insurance

During your training you are automatically insured through your instructor and SSI. After your course you should take out your own diving insurance. Read more about this here.
